our story

We Couldn't Find It. So We Built It.

We're local parents. And like a lot of families with young kids, we kept yearning for one simple thing: a place where the coffee is genuinely good, the kids are genuinely happy, and we could all actually enjoy being together.

But every weekend was the same loop — the same loud trampoline parks, the same overstimulating play places, the same watery vending-machine coffee while we stood on the sidelines watching the clock. Even at other kids' birthday parties, there was never a moment to exhale. We missed the simple things, too — like a real coffee date, back when a conversation didn't get interrupted every ninety seconds.

So we kept picturing something different. Somewhere calm, where our kids could get truly absorbed in play — the kind that builds focus instead of just burning energy. Somewhere clean, where we didn't have to wonder what our toddler's hands had just been in. Somewhere with clear sightlines, so we could sit, sip a real cup of coffee, and relax — knowing exactly where our kids were and that they were safe. Somewhere we could actually meet other parents while the kids stayed happily, safely immersed.

And somewhere that's genuinely fun for everyone — where a toddler and their big sibling both light up, and where parents and grandparents don't just watch from a bench but climb in, dig in the sand, and take the controls right alongside them.

We never found that place. So we're building it — right here on McGinnis Ferry Road.

What We're Building

A sandbox, reimagined

At the heart of it is a giant sensory sandbox filled with premium Baha Clean Play Sand — silica-free, soft, and turned over and sanitized daily. It's the kind of calm, tactile play that lets little ones settle in and truly focus, instead of bouncing off the walls.

Atlanta’s only RC digger arena

Then there's the part no one else has: a remote-control digger and crawler arena where kids, teens, and grown-ups take the controls of real construction machines. It's hands-on, a little bit thrilling, and genuinely fun at every age.

Coffee that's actually good

And because parents are here just as much as their kids, we built a real espresso bar — specialty lattes and freshly roasted beans, made to order. Not an afterthought. The good stuff.

Designed for Parents, Too

You get a genuine break, too.

Most play places are built for kids, and parents are just along for the ride — standing, hovering, waiting for it to be over. We flipped that. Clear sightlines from comfortable café seating mean you can actually sit down, relax, and enjoy your coffee while your kids play, knowing exactly where they are and that they're safe.

That's the whole idea: a place where you get a genuine break, where a coffee date with your partner is possible again, and where you can meet and catch up with other parents — all while the kids stay happily, safely immersed in play that actually holds their attention.

Fun for Every Age

From toddlers to grandparents.

A two-year-old and their ten-year-old sibling both light up here. So do the grown-ups. Parents and grandparents don't just watch — they climb in, build alongside the little ones in the sand, and take the controls in the RC arena. It's the rare place where a big age gap between siblings, or three generations in one visit, all works — and everyone genuinely has a good time.

Calm over chaos. Quality over quantity.

A space designed for the whole family — not just the kids, and not just the grown-ups, but everyone, together. We built Sand N Wheels around a simple idea: that the world is one family, and the places we gather should feel like it. Somewhere you're genuinely welcome, the details are cared for, and an ordinary afternoon can become a good memory.

We can't wait to welcome yours.
